Join us for our annual Light up a Life remembrance ceremony on Sunday 1 December 2019
The event is a celebration of life and an opportunity to honour the memory of those who are no longer with us.
This year the kind team at Acklam Village have offered their venue to the hospice to host the event.
- 6.00pm Arrive at Acklam Village
- 6.15pm Light up a Life begins
- 6.45pm Mulled wine, hot chocolate & mince pies
The ceremony will be led by the Pembridge Spiritual Care Advisor, Martin Hill, with songs by the London Live Community Choir.
Cathy Saraby, Senior Nurse Manager at Pembridge Hospice, said:
“Light up a Life is one of the most valued events in our calendar. It enables hundreds of people in our local community to experience the warmth and joy of sharing precious memories as they come together to remember a loved one.
The local community are very generous in sponsoring Christmas lights and stars too, enabling us to continue caring for local people with a life-limiting illness”
Sponsor a custom engraved star
You can RSVP below and then follow this link if you would like to sponsor a Christmas light at the hospice and a custom engraved star to hang at home. You don’t have to attend the event to sponsor a star.
We will display all of the stars on Christmas trees at Light up a Life, which are lit up during a dedication half way through the ceremony. The week after the event we will post out any stars that were not collected.
Your star can have any name or nickname you like, followed by an optional short message. Examples from previous years include messages like ‘Always in our hearts’, ‘Love you and miss you so much’ and ‘We miss you my darling’.
